My name is Ian Colley and I am a working freelance photographer located on the south side of Brisbane, specialising in Real Estate and Architecture photography, however this blog covers all aspects of my photography including my Sport and Landscape photography and any specials that I might have on photos or gallery prints from recent events.
Round 6 TSA-SRA Mt Cotton Hillclimb Series finished
Well, the last round of the 2014 Hillclimb series was run last weekend. I managed to get there both days but not for full days either Saturday or Sunday, had house shoots to do but I have plenty of photos to get through.
It was a great turn out of entrants, in excess of eighty I believe, with a couple of extra open wheelers and hardtops. Of particular interest to me was the Audi Quattro rally car, a beast of thing to drive around the hill. Such an exciting car to watch and listen to. Looks like it needs a bit of dirt on the track so it can spin up the tyres instead of doing wheel stands and stoppies all the way round the track - unreal ! I hope it's back next year a few more times than 2014.
I will be working on the photos over the next few days but in the mean time here are a couple from Sunday at the 2nd loop. Good to see Danny Mischok given' it heaps on his first run at Mt Cotton for a while too.

Cabarita - Round 4 photos
I've been very busy lately with property shoots and it has taken longer to get through the Jetboat racing photos than expected.
I decided to concentrate on doing some composite shot photos for each of the boats and this has taken quite a bit of time. Hopefully worth it !
Individual photos by boat are still to come and I will be working on these over the next few weeks as well as the many photos I will take at this weekends round of the Mt Cotton Hillclimb.

Round 6 TSA-SRA Mt Cotton Hillclimb Series
Round 6 of the Trenching Systems Australia and SR Automotive Hillclimb series is to be held on the last weekend in November.
I have finished the gallery print being given to the MG Car Club of Brisbane for the last round of the 2014 series. The gallery print is made up of photos of four competitors getting a bit untidy on their lap. These didn't end up in accidents so no damage done just a nice little attention getter for the drivers concerned !
Let's hope for some good weather and good racing.

V8 Superboats Round 4 October 18th-19th
Last weekend saw the running of Round 4 of the V8 Superboats at Cabarita. A difficult course direction created a lot of navigational errors with a couple of teams not completing a round cleanly on Saturday's practice.
There were some tentative runs on Sunday morning for some still coming to terms with the track layout but after lunch everyone had it sorted and racing went up a couple of notches.
Phonsey Mullen in Ramjet had track direction sorted out early and took out the top prize of the weekend.
Kamakazi took crash honours for the weekend, spinning out of the water on the last run of Saturday practice, then on Sunday having another off at the same spot and then a big crash with the "wild ride" winner in the passenger seat. They sure got a wild ride !
Photos will still be a while before I get through them all as I have been very busy with property shoots and I'm working on a few boat racing collages before I do individual boat photos.

Sunday at Mt Cotton
Unlike Saturday that saw Brian Pettit put his clubman on it's roof and some timing equipment delays, Sunday was a smooth procession of racing.
The weather was great and track conditions good and along with some great driving, a couple of class records were broken. Congratulations to Shane Merrick in the Datsun 1200 coupe and Barry Evans in his MGB GT V8 for setting new times for their classes to aim for.
Michael von Rappard had another winning weekend taking out both fastest time and the top six with times well under 40 seconds.
I have plenty of photos now for the framed gallery print for the last round coming up at the end of November.

Remember, until the end of October you can have all the photos of your car (as shown on the web site) for $50 instead of the usual $100. In most cases that's a lot of photos because it includes both Saturday and Sunday's racing. Contact me via email if you're interested.
