My name is Ian Colley and I am a working freelance photographer located on the south side of Brisbane, specialising in Real Estate and Architecture photography, however this blog covers all aspects of my photography including my Sport and Landscape photography and any specials that I might have on photos or gallery prints from recent events.
Jet boat photos finished
I have finished sorting through the thousands of photos shot at Rounds 2 and 3 of the jet boat racing held at Cabarita last month. They have all been uploaded to my website and are ready for viewing and purchase. I ended up with heaps of photos even after culling plenty of them. At least there are tons to choose from ! See here

Qld Hillclimb Championships 2015 (Sunday May 31st)
Sunday at Mt Cotton started with a fair bit of fog around, thankfully clearing before racing started.
The days competition went smoothly with very few interruptions. The only car to sustain any real damage was the Ford Cobra of Mark Crespan who cleaned up some armco after the finish line. They repaired the "Mongrel" and got it back on the track only missing one run.
I have lots of photos to sort through and cull to a reasonable number, probably keeping me busy for the rest of the week. In the mean time I have a few photos of the Mt Cotton Hillclimb/MG Car Club of Brisbane "El Presidente" Neil Lewis giving the John Davies Special open wheeler some berries in the 2nd loop on his last lap of the day. Nice to watch !

Qld Hillclimb Championships 2015
The QHC for 2015 at Mt Cotton started yesterday with the track open for practise. Today was another practise day with the serious competition about to start tomorrow. The weather looks like it will be great tomorrow so we should see some quick laps, fingers crossed.
There are a couple of quick open wheelers missing from the starting line up but overall a nice field of cars.

V8 Superboats Rounds 2 and 3
What a weekend of action and photo opportunities. The Red Bull film crew from Austria should have some great footage to take back and assess. Let's hope they liked what they saw and come back as a major sponsor next year.
Saturday saw a very tight and technical track layout that caught a lot of drivers out. I think this meeting had the most boats come out of the water I have ever seen.
Sunday's track layout was opened up a fair bit and was a flowing and fast track allowing the boats to show some real speed. There were a lot less crashes on Sunday.

As usual I have thousands of photos to sort through and will add a couple more from Sunday's racing up here in a couple of days.
Off to the Queensland Hillclimb Championships this weekend for some more motor sport, good stuff.

V8 Superboat Championships
The Cabarita rounds of the AFJSA V8 Superboat Championships 2015 have finally arrived.
Rounds 2 and 3 are being held this weekend at the Round Mountain Rd, Cabarita track. Round 2 which was to be held in NSW was cancelled at Easter this year so Round 2 will be held on Saturday and Round 3 (the normal round) will be held on the Sunday. There are a couple of Kiwi boats running this weekend, it will be nice to see how quick they are. Racing should be great because both days count as points rounds not the usual practise on Saturday and serious racing on Sunday. Can't wait !
I have finished the framed gallery print for the event and attached a sample below. These limited edition (20" x 24") gallery prints are available for sale at $195 each. There is also a copy of the flyer for the event attached.
